The purpose of this website is to provide details about the Rob Graham Family Foundation. The Rob Graham Family Foundation is the vehicle created to receive financial contributions that will benefit Rob Graham's family. The “Foundation” is not a tax-exempt organization under Federal or State statutes. Therefore, your donation is not eligible as a tax deduction. This website includes Foundation details, instructions for making a contribution, reports news and provides notice of upcoming events that will benefit the family.

Rob Graham suffered sudden cardiac arrest on February 19th, 2005, while coaching the Bishop Moore boy's varsity basketball team during a district championship game. Coach Graham was revived after an extended period of rigorous CPR and subsequent successful defibrillation.

As a result, Rob suffered a severe anoxic (lack of oxygen) brain injury and was in a comatose state for over a month. Rob emerged miraculously from the coma on March 25th (Good Friday) with brief periods of purposeful activity. Despite this improvement, the degree to which Rob will ultimately recover remains uncertain. He now faces an extended period of disability with numerous long-term, rehabilitative challenges.

The events of that fateful evening have resulted in a number of positive steps by both the private and public school systems that could lead to the installation of portable defibrillators on school campuses and the training of faculty and staff on their proper use. There is great confidence that these measures will substantially benefit our communities in the future.

Since his injury Rob has continually beat insurmountable odds and continues to vigorously pursue his physical and cognitive recovery.  Despite his improbable status today he and his family, continue to manage hardship and uncertainty due to the probable irreversibility of his medical condition.  Despite his challenges Rob continues to be an active participant in the Orlando community.  Most recently, Rob has been assisting the boys basketball program at Bishop Moore High School during the 08-09 season.

Rob, together with his family, thank everyone who has pledged and provided tangible and intangible resources to help Rob and his family manage his ongoing challenges.
